2014 Christmas Wishlist

2014 Christmas Wishlist

2014 Christmas Wishlist by sarahmagliocco

It's the most wonderful time of the year, oh I wish it could be Christmas everyday, walking in a Winter wonderland...etc.

So it's the time of the year again where festive cheer and fiscal spending is at it's highest, and I'm not complaining! Whether you are shopping for yourself or for gifts for others, here's my run down of 15 things I'd be very happy to see under my tree this year, or look forward to treating myself to in the new year.
1. The Bucket Hat
Iv'e been longing for a good bucket hat since the Summer, with my favourite style being the classic Stussy and this rare Nike Air Tokyo specimen.
2. The Platform Slip On
The shoe of A/W was the slip on plimsole, and I love River Island for introducing this snakeskin platform version. They're even on sale!
3. Embelished Choker
Tattoo chokers are dime a dozen now, I'll be adding interest with embellishment.
4. Faux Fur
Every Winter season faux fur comes back with a vengence, and these Missguided heels are an alternative twist on the typical faux fur clutches and jackets.
5. Dark Berry Lipstick
As stereotypical as it is, as the evenings get darker so do make up hues, and lips are no exception. MAC Rebel is my personal favouries.
6. iPhone 6
A major stocking filler this Christmas will be the iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus.. If you have a handy few hundred euro laying around. One can only dream..
7. HUF
HUF socks have been on my wishlist for a while now, particularily since the "palm" leaf print has been big. What print would look cuter with faux fur sliders or Nikes.
8.Adidas Mountain Clash Collection
I have become obsessed with landscape print and Adidas has the perfect urban edge to showcase a print like this in the coolest possible way.
9. Explicit Content
I am in love with this Missguided clutch, keeping the original Alexander Wang motif alive.
10. Casio Watch
A nod to the 80's, Iv'e had my eye on this Casio digital watch for years, I think it's such a classic and a nice alternative to the chunky styles from Michael Kors and River Island that have been popular for the last few years.
11. Penny Board
I started learning to skate like 2 years ago and never managed to get to grips with it. I saw the Penny Board first in my all time favouritee blogger and Youtuber, The Beauty Crush's, video a few months ago and have been obsessed with their sweet colour schemes ever since.
12. Kenzo Jumper
I much prefer the eye motif to the Kenzo tiger, I will be saving my Christmas dosh for a trip to BT2's.
13. Lacy
Who doesn't want cute underwear! Topshop have been steadily releasing cute lacy items all season if your Christmas budget doesn't quite stretch to this Stella Mc Cartney piece, but this particular triangle bra is available here.
14. Over the Knee Boots
I'm jumping on the band wagon here but over the knee boots are my favourite footwear fad of the minute.
15. Hidden Treasure
My go-to nail varnish that I re-purchase and re-purchase is Topshop's 'hidden treasure'.

Minimalist Haul | Missguided,H&M & Vintage

Lately I realised I needed a few light pieces to spruce up my Summer wardrobe. My Summer colours are still black, black and more black, but Iv'e added a few bits of white and grey to brighten things up. Most of the pieces just arrived today courtesy of Missguided, so everything featured should still be available online.
Ive been going for a minimalistic approach to Summer fashion this season, with blank whites and textured blacks featuring heavily in my Summer LookBook. Iv'e also been loving the whole Palm Springs/Club Tropicana trend that all the editorials and highstreet stores have been showcasing.

Top | Nicole X Missguided
When the hotly anticipated Nicole Sherzinger collaboration with Missguided was released, I was slightly disapointed with it as, although it was amazingly sexy and on trend, very little of it suited my personal style. There were a few pieces however. that caught my eye, particularily the black mesh pieces such as this croptop with mesh sleeves. It's quite fitted and very very cropped, I'd prefer if it was a bit longer but I'm looking forward to styling this piece with my mesh skirt, featured in my OOTD that you can see here.

You can also read my article on the release of Nicole's Missguided collection here on Style Eyes.
Bomber Jacket | Missguided
I ordered this quilted bomber jacket to throw on as an alternative to my black bomber jackets for nights out. Its a really light material with a faux leather exterior so it's perfect for Summer and the All White Everthing minimalist look Iv'e been loving lately.
I also love the light quilted texture detailing on the exterior.
Dress | Missguided
I loved this dress in whiteso much I decided to pick it up in black as well! It's just a simple minimalist shift style dress. I love the ease and simplicity of having pieces like this in my wardrobe. The added sheer panel at the décolletage adds interest and keeps the black dress from being too heavy for Summer months, not that you don't still need warmth in an Irish Summer.

You can also check out some other Missguided looks iv'e put together on my Instagram.
Co-ordinates | Missguided
The next bits I purchased is this white palm print shorts and jacket combo. I have been totally obsessed with co-ordinates this S/S season and this print caught my eye immediatley on the Missguided website.
These co-ords were sold seperatley on the Missguided website, and you could choose to match the jacket with either a dress or a top & shorts. I chose the shorts and jacket without the top as I thought a cute white or black crop top would keep the co-ordinate look without being too matchy-matchy.
The muted club tropicana print was also perfect for me as I can be a tad colour shy. It's perfectly palm springs without being too over the top.
Ring | Missguided
I chose this "palm leaf" ring as I was inspired by the Motel Rocks leaf print co-ords that Iv'e seen all over Look Book and Tumblr. As much as I'm liking this ring, i think that the shad of gold they chose it quite bright and a little tacky, and it really stands out as being bright and brassy when I wear it stacked with other gold rings. Other than that i think it's an edgy but subtle take on the, lets face it, weed print trend.
Co-ordinates | H&M
I also picked up this pair of white co-ordinates in the H&M sale. I thought they were simple and would be easy to style together or as seperates. I also chose them due to the textured look and feel of the fabric.

Lace Top | Vintage
My Mum is an excellent one for hoarding away gems from her 80's and 90's wardrobe. Recently she gifted me this beautiful delicate palm lace top with pearl buttons. It's gorgeous and looks amazing worn as a bralet under sheer white tops and as a crop top with highwaited jeans, sliders and an open shirt.

Leather Backpack | Vintage
After seeing me lusting after millions of black leather backpacks on Polyvore, my very generous Mum also gave me this perfect little vintage backpack. Iv'e been wearing this to death since she gave it to me and it's officially my new favourite bag for everyday. It's little but quite roomy, and sits perfectly even over my giant Levis sherling jacket. Thanks Mum!

September Haul: New Look, Thrift Store, Primark etc..

Hello all, my apologies for the lack of blogging this month, I had lots going on with moving house and starting school etc.  but today I have a little collective haul of bits and  bobs Iv'e collected over the past two or three weeks because Iv'e had lots more shopping money recently since I moved out of my apartment.
Firstly Iv'e been hitting a lot of car boot sales lately and I picked up these two broaches in Oranmore off a lovely lady who had a whole table of broaches so I had to restrain myself  a little and I just picked two.
I chose this intricate silver badge on a black velvet strip. It kind of reminded me of military style so I might pin it to my camoflage army jacket.
I also got this wings broach which was apparently some kind of air hostess badge from Canada which I think is really cool! And they were both only 3euro which was really good me thinks!

I went to new look and picked up a few things there, I got this amazing kind of tribal slightly sci-fi necklace.

It's kind of a choker necklace, the leather plaited strap is really short but surprisingly comfortable, the leather is super soft against your neck.

I also had a wander around Penneys (Primark) and picked up this cute beanie in the mens section. I also got two plain black beanies as I have some projects i n mind for them.

In the reduced section I found this cute belt. Seeings Iv'e always been obsessed with the Moschino lettering belts I picked this up for only 3euro.

When I was in New Look I got two pairs of shoes, firstly these AMAZING sci-fi style wedges. They were 44.99 but there was an offer for ten euro off so I grabbed them as Iv'e been wanting them for ages and ages.

I know the Summer's neon trend is over but we all know it will be back next year so for a tenner in the sale I snapped up these amazing neon yellow-green courts.

I hardly ever wear stillettos, nearly always chunky heels or booties but I thought these were a totally cool way to do neon!
In  a thrift store in Oranmore I found this wonderful embroideried top with intricate flowers and edging.

It has two cute fluro pink plaits on the edging as well, this top is full of detail!
While in Penneys I picked up this incredibly soft scarf for 4euro as my nod to Autumns perpetual tartan trend.

In another charity shop in Galway I picked up this weird nautical 8O's shirt that I think will look amaze with disco pants and  double decker creeper shoe. It was a complete bargain at 3euro!
I recently got two skirts because I need heavy wintery ones, mine are all kind of flimsy and summery.
I got this heavy cotton wine coloured one in River Island. I cant remember how much it was but whatever it was it was worth it because iv'e worn it so much already!
On  more impulse buy I got this crucifix print skirt for 19.99 in New Look, I love it but my God, I need to stop buying crucifix things!
That's my little haul and I'm pretty sure everything's still in store! I'm trying to get back on top of blogging once or twice a week so bear with me!

Spain Haul: Primark, Topshop, H&M, Blanco, Zara.

Hey all, Iv'e been very neglectful lately, I apologize for that but Iv'e got no internet at the moment so what could I do! I have
a quick haul, mostly accessories, not everything I bought in Spain is here because I didn't realize I would have a chance to blog today and I don't have pictures of the clothing on my camera!

The first thing I wanted to talk about is my Birthday dress I got for my party, it's from Topshop, and my Mom bought it online for me as one of my birthday gifts, so thank you mother!

It's a gorgeous pearlesent nude, with silverish threads sewed through it. It wasnt my first choice but as we know, my first choices release date was pushed back to May and I needed the dress for April, but no matter! I still love this dress.

Before I jetted off I picked up a few bits, here is just accessories I go literally the day before I left.

                     Primark Ring~1euro

I got this in one of the little reduced stands in Penneys, I am currently obsessed with turquoise and stone jewellery so I snapped this up asap. The stone was a little loose so I had to take it out and superglue it, but it was worth it, I love this ring .

Topman Ring~3.5Oeuro
I was in Topman with my boyfriend and I hadn't been in a while so I had a good nosey in their jewellery section where I usually find good pieces that are a lot more resilliant than Topshop and worth more per wear as they dont tend to snap on nights out (grr..still mad about my bodychain)so I picked this crucifix ring up. I know the crucifix trend was overdone like a year ago I just cant let go! So I said I'd try them in a more subtle way with this ring rather than the now common double ring crucifix.
Topshop handchain~ Sale

I cant remember how much this was but it was in the sale
As was the Topman ring above, I forgot to mention that.
I really liked the fact that this hand chain was connected by a bangle rather than a delicate bracelet.
My only problem was that the sizing of the rings was very off, as you'l see below, I had to swap the rings around for them to fit but then that kind of twisted the crucifix which
was annoying to say the least.

H&M Collar~9.99euro
I picked this pearl collar up in H&M in Spain. I had to have it because it was only 9.99, it's exactly the same as one in Topshop  which is 18.5O.

I also went into Blanco while I was away, which is now one of my favourite shops! I picked up some clothes in there, but as I said Iv'e no pictures of them so I wont even bother mentioning them.

Blanco Ring~ 6euro
I'm not 1OO% sure why I bought this, It's not it really my style. I do like it I'm just not sure how often I'll get wear out of it.

It reminds me of something Iv'e seen before, maybe a designer ring or catwalk accessory or something and I think that just pinged in my mind when I saw it..

  H@M Ring~3.99
I got another ring which once again isn't really my style but I love pearls and the colours shining in this one are really vibrant
  Zara Clutch~29.99
I am so excited about this clutch! I have wanted it for ages but seeings there's no Zara in Galway and it was sold out online, I resigned myself to the fact that I would never have it, but when I was in Spain I popped into a Zara and there it was! So I blew thirty frickin euros on a clutch which is ridiculous I know, but it makes me so happy!

I just love love loved last seasons under the sea theme of the catwalks, and this fish scale effect is gorgeous.
The deep blue lining keeps the whole under the sea vibe going.
My only concern is the sequin things bending on a night out.

 Blanco Necklace~ 9.99
My last item! I got this dreamcatcher necklace in Blanco, I fell in love with the feathers and cute little skulls dangling off it.

This is another thing I'm not sure why I bought, I wore it a good bit in Spain but Iv'e nothing in my everyday wardrobe to match it with. I'm going to try and build an Outfit Of The Day around it.
